ANTS, ANTS, ANTS, ARE EVERYWHERE!

I don't know how to get rid of them.  I really don't want to use anything harsh in the house since I have pets and kids.  I just don't know how to control these ants.  *pulling at hair* Nothing seems to work.  *staring straight at the computer while feverishly pounding at the keys with great strength and speed* Same for the love bugs, except they don't seem to be "loving" as much as last year.  *thinking* And what are those knat like buggy thingies that are showing up all over the place?  *swiping the knat like buggy thingy* Seems like there is somethings a little different every year.  *knodding head in an up and down motion* At least there's not the Daddy Long Legs spider thing this year....now that was freaky.  *eyes wide open* Ok, so I've got that out of my system.  *sigh of relief*

So today I went to Sam's warehouse with a friend to get some food to take to a friend whose husband just past away.  Tried to pick up some in the house, ran a couple of errands, cooked dinner, helped kid 3 with homework, got ready, took kid 2 to an activity, then went to a viewing.  hubby then picked up kid 1 for me and took kid 3 to an activity.

  • LIFE IS ALL ABOUT CHOICES.
    • hope I make the right choices
  • TODAY I CHOOSE TO TAKE CONTROL.
    • not going to give in to make the peace
  •  I'm going to take the bull by it horns.....*smiling*

Right now my house is really quiet.....it's a strange, but nice feeling.  My older kids are tubing with the youth group.  My daughter really wanted to go and we made our son go for his own good....loooong story.  My youngest and my hubby went to a swim party (yay for swimming) with their Webelos Patrol (Cub Scouts).  My family let me sleep in this morning.  Wow, now that was nice, I really needed the sleep.....I feel like a happy camper now.  I don't think I've slept like that in years.  Of course you would of thought I had slept through a war.....STUFF EVERYWHERE!!!!  And the smell of burnt pancakes, wet dogs, and who knows what.  But, I'm not even going to worry about it cuz I'm on strike.  I've decided to tell my kids that since they don't work but we pay for their activities and they get an allowance, then they can consider house work and chores their "job".  If they don't work then they don't get paid.  Not that the house is always a disaster, but what takes me all week to catch up on is destroyed in a matter of 3 hours.  You know clothes, dishes, shoes, food, books, videos etc.....EVERYWHERE!  And how the floor gets the way it does is beyond me.  We've always tried to get them to do some kind of chore but our lives can become so hectic at times and things just seem to overwhelm everyone so I just do it..(I know, big mistake on my part).  But my hubby thinks they should get an allowance no matter what.  .....But my hubby doesn't pick up after himself either).....Of course who pays their allowance....me!  It comes out of my budget.  So I'm taking control now.....I'm pretty firm on it.  I think it's because I am finally rested.  Of course I have to tell everyone first.  I've also decided that the next time my kids start to gripe or want to fuss about something to me then I am going to hold up a sign (like a paddle) that is either shaped like a hand and says; talk to the hand, or have a sign that says; Did I just hear something?  Ok, so these are just ideas.  If anyone has a better idea, or better sayings....let me know.

I saw this video.....I thought it was funny.  I don't know exactly what they are saying but the video is fun to watch.....I love to dance to this!  http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia/astralwerks/fatboy/weapon_of_choice_300.asx

These were my kids today: ok Thursday:

Kid 1 (the over exaggerator, un-motivator)...

Kid 2 (the drama queen...speaks for itself)...

Kid 3 (Mr. Crankiness...aka- the informer)...this morning-, this afternoon-

My kids have reminded me about the two things I say to them that just drives them nuts......

1.  Get glad where you got mad from.

2.   Isn't it so tough to have a mom that loves you so much that she's worries about you and only wants the best for you?

And then of course when they're on their soap box I'll say; Are you finished now?  I just got to thinking about that.  Well Mr. Crankiness became Mr. Happy Camper.  When he got home he practiced his drums, did his homework, ate a snack, and talked and talked and talked to me.  My ears were starting to get a little numb.  My two teens actually got along.  Hmmm something's up!  I just know it.  I'm sure they'll want me to take them somewhere or do something this weekend.  Ewwww, my dog just slimed me.  I have two dogs, a standard poodle, and a Saint Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix.  I rescued her when she was 5 weeks old.....she was very sick.  It's the SBGB that just slimed me.....that is so gross, but funny when it happens to one of kids cause they really get grossed out....then they chase each other around trying to wipe it on each other.  Don't get me wrong, we're clean people, but our SBGB just turned 7 months old and probably weighs about 65-70 pounds so far.   She drools, is clumsy, chews on everything, digs, but is alot of fun.  The drool thing is something we are just now experiencing.  Don't know what I'm going to do when I have Bunco here at the house.  My Poodle is really good, but his breath leaves something to be desired.  I've even had his teeth cleaned.  My SBGS follows me everywhere .  I gotta get this dog trained, I'm too much of a softy....all I do is hug, kiss, talk baby language, pet and scratch my pets, make them treats, and play with them......so I'm getting nowhere.   Any suggestions?

Ok so Mr. Crankiness (my 10 year old) is off to school now.  He must be growing, nothing seems to make him happy right now.  Not even Hockey.  He's a little irritated with me right now because I made him wear a wrist band to protect his wrist during hockey practice (it was under his glove).....he moaned and groaned how he didn't think he could play with it.....but after he broke his wrist in several places during a hockey game last season and two surgeries later this kid's gonna wear the wrist band while he plays.  He told me he didn't like me yesterday....it broke my heart.   I told him yes he does like me and he doesn't fool me one bit and I told him that I even know he loves me too.  He didn't know how to react to that.....I guess he wanted me to argue back.  He started to grin....so he turned his head and walked off so I couldn't see.   I need to get this child back on a routine or schedule of some kind.  Seems I've been so busy running here and there.  Gonna need to rethink my plan.  Can't wait till my oldest starts to drive.  He's got to get his Eagle first.  I think he knows we're firm on that.  At least he's finally taking us serious and working on it.  I remember when he first started taking Drivers Ed I let him drive me around and boy was it nerve racking.  One time when we got to our destination I hopped out of the car, threw my arms in the air, yelled I'm alive!, we made it!, then proceeded to kiss the ground.  My son did not think it was funny.....but I did.  Gonna need to send my daughter to driving school here pretty soon......Lord help us all.  I remember when she took the wheel of the power wheels when she was little, she froze and couldn't lift her foot off of the petal then she went flying over my flower garden, then over some toys, almost got the dog, and ended up in some bushes along the fence..... her brother was hanging on for dear life until he did one of those flying leaps while yelling turn the wheel turn the wheel.    Ok, so enough of my rambling, I've got a big day ahead of me........and I need some coffee....or green tea.
